How to Use Roblox Studio

Introduction

If you have come to read this article, I believe that you are in search of help for using roblox studio. This article will be a very well explained manual of how to use it. When i first started trying to use it, it was really easy, but when you get to scripting... that is really hard.

Starting

first you must download roblox studio by pressing here. Download roblox and the studio will come with it. Open roblox studio and you will see this:

Roblox website homepage featuring game categories and advertisements.

Once you are in your account on on that page, go to "my roblox". Then go to one of the grey buttons called "places". Under a big picture, there are three things to click, "play", "build" and "edit". Click edit and you are on your way to making a game.

The toolbox

When you are seeing your place, around the top-left corner of the screen is "view". Click that and some tools will come up. click "toolbox". The toolbox will come up in the right. There you can drag bricks onto your place and build thing in it.

The Free Models

In the toolbox, where it says "bricks", there is an arrow pointing downwards. Click it and choose "free models". type what you want such as "plane" or "building tools" or "rocket" or anything else. When you get your results, drag one of them onto where you want to put it in.

The StarterPack

The starterpack is the pack of tools you get when you enter the game or respawn. To put things into the starterpack, search a tool in free models such as "sword" or "rocket launcher" and double click it. If it is a valid tool, it will be in the starterpack instantly, if it is slightly less valid, it will open a dialog box asking if you want to place it in 3D. click "no" and it will be in the starterpack. If it is invalid completely, you can not put it in the starter pack.

The creator tools

the creator tools are all in a row around the top of the screen. Here are what they do:

Lock: makes it so nothing can do anything to the brick

Anchor: It will stay where ever you place it

Smooth and to the right: changes the surface of the brick

Resize: resizes the brick

Drag: allows you to drag the brick

and there are many more that can be known by their name.

The Scripts (the hard part)

The hardest, and most advanced part of roblox studio, is scripting. I do not really know how to make scripts but scripts can be found in the free models luckily. Editing some scripts can be easy but editing others can be nearly impossible without months of training.

Publishing

when you are done completely or for the time being, press the little "x" in the top-right corner of your place. A dialog will pop up. Click "save".

Ending

there will be more information on scripting and other things in another one of my articles. These are just the basics!!! Well... I hope this helped you make a game!!!
